Ms Samantha Caherty

Job TitleSenior Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Attitudes

She has worked in Catholic education for 25 years. Having started her career as a primary specialist, she transitioned to secondary education in 2004 where she spent many successful years teaching RE and as a Head of Year at Bishop Challoner Catholic College, Birmingham. She was appointed Assistant Headteacher at Cardinal Newman Catholic school in 2017, where she was responsible for Behaviour, attendance, and Catholic Life. 

 

Since joining St Benedict’s in 2021 she has been responsible for Behaviour and Attitudes and is the designated safeguarding lead. She is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential through building strong relationships with students and their families. Ms Caherty is delighted to be leading the pastoral and safeguarding teams and working collaboratively across our MAC schools developing the schools’ pastoral programmes for all students. She is passionate about Catholic education and believes strongly in the school’s mission statement, that all students should “have life and have it to the full”.
